Her favourite type of dentistry is cosmetic treatments, helping to make patients feel at ease while achieving the smile they dream of. Beth is a keen learner and wishes to develop her nursing skills but also enjoys getting to know patients better while being a member of our reception team.
Outside of work Beth enjoys baking, reading and going to the gym.
Hi I’m Helen (Honey to friends & family), one of the decontamination nurses.
I’ve worked here at Black Swan for nearly two years.
I spread my working week either here or at our family run residential care home in Bridport where I mainly do the training side of things.
It may sound cliché but at Black Swan we really are like family, we are always there for each other and there is always plenty of laughter.
When I’m not working I enjoy being nana Honey to my 3 gorgeous grandchildren or myself and my husband James enjoy short breaks away, taking his Lotus to various track days and blowing away the cobwebs is always fun too.
Beccy has been involved in dentistry since 1988 and qualified as a dental nurse in 1996. She joined Black Swan Dental Spa in 2018 and is loves helping our patients achieve the smiles they want.
Beccy is always ready to help, enthusiastic and keen to learn new ideas, skills and knowledge from working at Black Swan. She loves being part of the team and is always smiling, brightening up our day.
In her spare time she enjoys relaxing with her two children, running and gardening.
Lucy Joined black swan dental Spa in 2018. She has been in dentistry for since 2007 and gained the National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2009. She has also been a locum nurse where she gained a huge amount of experience in all aspects of dentistry being able to take on any challenges that may come her way.
At Black Swan Lucy enjoys helping our patients journey to be the best one possible. Lucy’s greatest satisfaction is seeing a nervous patient smile with happiness and confidence after they have visited us, and they can’t wait to return again. Making patients feel at ease is so important.
Black Swan encourages staff to widen their knowledge and Lucy plans to take her dental radiography qualification in 2019.
Outside of work Lucy has a love for baking, road cycling, keeping fit in the gym and travelling to new countries.
Kelly joined the team at Black Swan in 2015 having started her career as a dental nurse in 2002 and obtaining her National Certificate 2007. Her extensive range of experience means that she is able to turn her hand to all aspects of dental nursing and she particularly enjoys working on the surgical side of dentistry.
She holds a qualification in Dental Radiology and has just embarked on the challenging role of Implant Co-ordinator, which will see her involved with every element of the Dental Implant patients’ journey.
An organised and efficient, as well as a caring, individual she has also been involved with stock control and staff rotas.
Away from Black Swan she has the joy of being the mum of a two-year-old son and, when time allows, enjoys her friends, running and a good book.
Sandra started her career as a dental nurse in Sharjah in the UAE in the 1980s where the experience of doing “everything” including reception work has stood in her in good stead for the rest of her career. Her dedication saw her qualify by taking a correspondence course through Bristol Dental Hospital and then returning to the UK to sit, and pass, her exams at Guys Hospital.
On returning to the UK in 1999 she worked in London and then relocated to Dorset where she joined a practice than subsequently merged with Black Swan. A true team player, Sandra thrives on helping gain the trust and confidence of nervous patients.
With an enquiring mind she is always seeking to expand her knowledge both of her profession and in other areas. In recent times she has studied with the Open University and completed a counselling course. She enjoys the gym, walking and sailing.
Mia completed her secondary school education at Stanchester Academy in June 2019. She is now enrolled at Strode college on the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Beauty Therapy. Health and Beauty are subjects that are of great interest to Mia, so to expand her knowledge and variety in the subject she has joined the team as a Decontamination Nurse.
Outside of college and work she enjoys spending time with her friends, training at the local Nuffield Gym and planning for future worldwide travel.
